There is a front piece, back piece and bottom piece that is solid. The sides are made from thinner strips. The crates are nailed and glued together.
They measure 5 3/8" from side to side across the middle (can hold CDs), 7" from front to back and various heights from 5 1/4" high to 6" high.
Then I painted two of them white and stained four of them.
I downloaded some great graphics from The Graphics Fairy and printed them on my printer and then glued them on with Mod Podge to the fronts. Some of the graphics were first stained a bit to look old and distressed.

One extra is a finger-jointed box or tray that is 10" wide and 2" tall and 6 5/8" deep. It has a nice graphic on the bottom rather than the side.

I really love these Julie. They are wonderful--nice work!
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful. The vintage graphics you selected are very nice.
ReplyDeleteSaw this on Graphics Fairy.
Julie-too cute!
ReplyDeleteI got two great pallets when my shingles were delivered. I thought the roofers were going to take them (as a tailgate for their trailer to haul off the debris)
I mentioned that I wanted them, so they left them for me. woohoo!
I can't wait to use the awesome wood for something. Maybe crates? thanks for the inspiration!
